Screaming Eagle
Screaming Eagle is a cross between the Airborne G13 x (88G13/HP x VA Beach Afghani). One of the most relaxing sativa cultivars I’ve ever come across! We always use this one as an example to demonstrate that THC percentages only matter so much when it comes to effect. This lady will rock your socks at a relatively low THC percentage.
How is that possible you ask?
Well, there are many factors that come into play as our brain interacts with the Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). First of all, our brain chemistry is different and that means that your experience could and probably is different than mine. This is why we encourage consumers to try new strains! Secondly, THC interacts with the many other cannabinoids found in all cannabis such as CBD, CBN, CBG etc. They kind of fit together like puzzle pieces that influence the interaction between THC and your mind.
It gets even more complicated when we consider the effect that terpene’s, the compounds that give everything including cannabis that wonderful aroma, effect your mind’s interaction with cannabinoids. Too much info for this review, but the bottom-line is that THC only plays a part in the experience we all enjoy.
Today’s hike was perfect. The weather has been gorgeous lately with the heat seemingly in the rear view mirror as we truck into summer’s finale and the crisp fall mornings to come! We kept stopping and reminding each other how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place surrounded by beautiful people as we gazed at the majestic views. Lucky Dogs indeed! El Toro didn’t seem to disagree as he greeted the dozen or so dogs that we passed on the trail.. The conversations that I’m involved in usually lead to the dog kingdom at some point and today was no different. Memories of my girl Zephyr washed over me as the crisp mountain air cleared my mind. I told Eli all about her and what she meant to me. She was a regal old soul. A mix of Great Dane and Cane Korso. Memories are funny in the way that they come and flood my mind and heart with details. I could feel her walking with us. Mountain air make my memory come alive!
The good vibes were universal as we stopped and chatted with folks as we passed them by. Every conversation anchored in the dog kingdom, the theme continued all the way to Rock. It was all smiles as we took a seat and pulled out a pre-roll of Screaming Eagle to kick off our new tradition. At Lucky Dog Cannabis we use ‘popcorn’ nugs to make our pre-rolls. We meticulously remove the little stems and leaves from these buds before grinding the material up and making our pre-rolls. This makes a huge difference in the quality of the pre-roll. How it burns and tastes depends on this. We generally say your flower is only as good as it tastes and burns in a pre-roll. If the pre-roll is good then the flower is good.
This joint burned clean and smooth and had the flavor of tangerines and chocolate which surprised us as we don’t get that from the aroma. The exhale had that sweet mouth coating after taste that we all love and crave. The mood was somehow lifted even further. Truly energizing and a focused mind.
I used the clarity of the moment to visualize the experience. What does it mean to be ‘uplifted’? What do we mean when we say cannabis energizes us and focuses our mind? It’s sometimes hard to describe. I noticed my posture straightening up and feeling lighter. I could feel it in my head as if I was being pulled upwards towards the clear blue skies. Uplifted. I could feel the perma-grin on my face. More warm memories began to wash over me. I felt content. This is how cannabis should be. Life moves too fast and we miss so much of what it has to offer, and to me cannabis, is the antidote. It’s a symbiotic relationship that seems just in time with how we live our lives. It gives us the opportunity to be in the now. Today the now was pretty epic and this joint of Screaming Eagle was a perfect addition. The ideas and creative thought pathways were opening up and thats when we decided to make this our new tradition.
The walk in clears the mind the way a beautiful hike does which is a perfect headspace to truly experience a strain. With this pre-roll of Screaming Eagle, we both agreed that this will make the trek back to the trailhead effortless and it was. On the way back we talked about synchronicity and how we were in the middle of one of those moments where everything seemed to be connected. I turned to Eli and asked him if everyday was like this for him. He said “i wish”. We both laughed as we were crossing a foot bridge where we were met by a gorgeous Cane Korso who had that ancient gaze in his eyes. While we chatted with the young man that was handling this old soul, I reflected again on Zephyr and could feel her presence. Synchronicity indeed.
Enjoy the moment and stay lifted..
